• The dealer should deal the first card and place it in the center of the table. Any additional bets based on that card are then decided by the dealer. The first card is sometimes called the “wild card,” which I know is easily confused. The first card is not a wild card and is unrelated to the card commonly referred to as a “wild card.” For the sake of clarity, I prefer to call it the “middle card.”
• At this point, players can bet “Andar” or “Bahar”. Additionally, they can place extra bets on the total points of the cards dealt, such as “20+”.
• After bets are placed, the dealer deals cards one by one until they receive a hand that matches the value of the middle card. The dealer deals alternately to the left and right of the middle card. In some versions, the dealer starts dealing from the left of the middle card; in others, they deal randomly based on the suit of the middle card. However, it doesn’t matter which side the dealer starts dealing from.
• If the total number of cards dealt after a winning hand is odd, the “Anda” bet wins. Depending on the version, the odds for an Anda bet may be 0.9 to 1 or 0.95 to 1.
• If the total number of cards dealt after the middle card is even, the “Bahar” bet wins. Depending on the version, the odds for a Bahar bet may be 0.95 to 1 or 1 to 1.
• After a pairing is made, any side bets based on the total number of cards dealt after the pairing should be adjudicated.
